Checklist for your scan in background mode to work

1. Check that your scan in background mode is turned on in settings.

2. Disable your phone battery optimisation settings, not doing so will often interfere with background mode.

3. Turn on your phone sound and volume, this way when your phone is not pinging with a tag sound where you'd normally expect it to, open your app and double-check before continuing.

4. Tags may not be picked up on a new route in background mode, as you will not know where the tags are if you've never used the route to know.

5. Tags are more likely not to be picked up when you go through patches of roads with little network signal on your phone.

7. If you are still having issues outside of all of the above it may be that another app on your phone is interfering. During your walk/run/cycling, simply temporarily disable your phone's auto-sleep mode and have your app running on the screen while you do your physical activity, with this, you will be able to ensure your tags are captured.

8. We have plans to introduce offline mode tags in 2021 that will mitigate issues of tags not being picked up.
