Cumbria boasts of impressive results from using Street Tag!

At the beginning of this year, Cumbria county council, in collaboration with Street Tag, launched season 1 of the school leaderboard for schools in the district. To promote physical activities as fun and rewarding for students, parents, and school staff. 

The season ran from Monday 3rd January to Friday 25th March 2022, and some terrific results were recorded, which have been highlighted below:

Total number of Schools registered on Street Tag – 94

Total number of players in Cumbria– 4,200

Total miles traveled by players – 485,000

Total number of virtual tags collected – 1.5 million

Total number of steps counted – 424 million.

Additionally, the Cumbrian Player Survey indicated positive changes in high percentages that occurred because of Street Tag:

92% are more motivated to be physically active.

92% say the most enjoyable part is feeling fitter and being more active.

And 83% give Street Tag a 4 or 5-star rating.

Wow! These are mind-blowing numbers and Statistics from Season 1 in Cumbria. We hope to bring about even greater positive changes and statistics in Season 2.

After seeing the results from season 1 , Oliver Carswell, the development officer of Cumbria County Council, said: "Now would be a great time to reach out to the schools that haven't signed up to Street Tag yet. Season 1 has finished, and it has yielded some truly amazing results."

Although, season 2 has already started. It is not too late to register your school for this free and fun physical activity competition and stand a chance to earn prizes for your school.
