Local Facility Members
Street Tag presents an incredible opportunity for local communities to engage young people, families and residents in physical activity while exploring local facilities such as parks, greenspaces, and libraries. By transforming our streets into a virtual playground, Street Tag encourages walking, running, cycling and wheelchair rolling to earn rewards and foster a healthier lifestyle.
Using their smartphones, participants go out exploring to collect virtual tags (and some physical tags) at various locations, watching their total distance and step count accumulate in order to climb up on the School, Community or Workplace Leaderboard. This is a gamified approach to being physically active which not only fosters community engagement through friendly competition, but also creates an opportunity to rediscover the local area and reconnect with fantastic facilities, such as green spaces, libraries, and more.
HOW IT WORKS
Street Tag is committed to bringing the community together as one. We will use a mixture of virtual and physical tags to create fun, engagement, and friendly competition around physical activity.
We will place virtual tags in parks, libraries, and popular active travel routes.
Participants will be able to create their own virtual tags in their favourite places and chosen travel routes.
Virtual tags are worth an average of 50 points each, and tags with a ‘star’ on them are awarded bonus points.
Once participants are within a 40-meter radius of a tag, they will automatically receive the points.
We will occasionally curate physical tags (QR codes), which are special edition tags.
Participants use the Street Tag app to scan and receive extra bonus points.
Physical tags incentivise participants to directly engage with specific facilities.
We will use physical tags during themed competitions and events.
We are currently only accepting local facilities within the UK.
